The round is not over yet, and in R-Type 2 I lost also my first place to Biscuit just before the end. I will continue to play until the time is over.

For the curious here is an explanation how to get an additional improvement of 0.1 - 0.2s per bend:

Assume you have an even levelled bend to the right, like the one after the short hump on the roller coaster.

Go on the left side of the path into the bend. Remain on the left side of the path and steer (joystick right) along the bend so that you see only a bit of the right path edge. When the bend goes straight again, continue to steer right so you cross the middle in the path with a slight (about 15-20 degrees) angle. To avoid flying off the track, countersteer with a left joystick tick when you have crossed the middle of the now straight path. That way you wont bounce with your car in and after bends and lose precious time (or bounce only a little).
