@emuola,
The floppy drive support bracket which I uploaded the pictures of is designed to attach to the side of the standard A1200 floppy drive. You have admitted that there are no mounting holes on the sides of the Matsushita floppy drive you wish to install in your A1200. This means that you will have difficulty using the support bracket with this drive, though it will of course make it very easy for you to fit a standard A1200 drive. To use it with the Matsushita, you will have to drill a mounting hole in the left hand side of the drive, into which you can insert a self-tapping screw. The top of the bracket is designed to support the top half of the A1200 case and does not align witb the top of the drive. The hole in the side of the drive must be located so that the drive sits parallel with the keyboard when fitted. I cannot be more specific about the location of the hole, because the Matsushita drive and the standard Amiga drive are so dissimilar. |

@emuola,
Here is a nice shot of the A1200 floppy support bracket fitted to a standard drive inside the A1200 case with the shield and keyboard removed. It clearly shows the gap between the top of the bracket and the drive. Thanks to musojon74 for the pic from this thread. |

Thank you very much Prowler for the informative link I *should* get a real A1200 floppy drive from the seller after a little "negotiation" At least that's what he promised. So, I'll then use the bracket to install the real A1200 drive properly

That's great news, emuola!
If you can get hold of a standard floppy drive for your A1200, the bracket will fit perfectly and you won't have to modify the case either! BTW, don't forget to keep your Matsushita drive as a spare. |

Ok after alot of searching I found the drive. But im not 100% sure its going to be ok. It has the rails but I cannot be totaly sure all the holes lineup...
I will be far better to buy another drive and fit everything perfectly than to start hacking things and drilling holes that shouldnt be there. |

Thanks very much for the update, emuola! It's good to hear that your A1200 is 'shipshape'.
