For "Blake Stone" you should use Bszili's Amiga port, runs perfectly

I'm having trouble with Wolf, it gives an error can't find a Screen Mode for requested mode. I'm using the RTG version and use picasso96 on my radeon.

Tried using modepro and newmode to intercept the screen, that didn't work.

I had to rename all the .WL1 files to .WL6 from the cdrom I bought. I even tried another version I found online (it was a working version) and had the same error.

Tried on a different system that uses cybergraphix, same results.

Downloaded the ecs version and tested with same results.
Yes unfortunately there are multiple versions of the full retail game and amiwolf only works properly with one version. I've updated the first post of this thread with details of the actual files (dates and sizes).

Email me if you are still having trouble.

You'll need a 320*200 8 bit RTG mode available on your system.

I've done a quick and dirty build for the Aca500+, no idea if this will run though (or how fast it will be if it does run).

I've also done a quick video of the AGA version running on my new MiSTer, not quite fast enough to be playable yet but almost there, hopefully some core updates will get us there soon

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is extremely curious about how it will run on a ~50 MHz 68000 !

There's quite a few of those Aca500+ boards out there already, right ?

If you want to try out the special 68000 build then you will probably need to change the tooltypes to 'nosound' because the otherwise it will try and use the DOOM sound library that requires at least an 020.

Thanks for the tip, tried it today, but didn't get much joy. The screen went blank and then returned to WB. I guess I should find different .wl6 files...

I also tried quickly yesterday, but could not make it.
Screen went gray both on my Aca500+ and my emulation on winuae.

Should we just add that tooltype?
Or change existing (the one that point on doom sounds)?
Or delete everything, and just adding "nosound"?

Sorry, I am very inexperienced in these stuff

Whoops my bad, it doesn't have that Tooltype option, I'll do a new build (I was thinking of Doom LoL)

Yep that Atari ST port is very impressive, it's highly optimized for the ST and the 68000.
AmiWolf was built for an 030 (or better) and runs very well on a fast 030, it's better than the original DOS port in my opinion.

Amazing bro... I will record speed on 14, 21, 28, and 42Mhz on Wolf.
... and of Doom, if you ever made it.

Okay here is a new build with the Doom sound library disabled.

Looking at the code again I think the you will have a problem with the C2P code which was designed for an 020 but give it a try, you never know your luck.

See the first post on this thread to find out what versions of the data files you need, AmiWolf only works with one version properly.

Lol - It works!
Right from the get go

On 14Mhz it's ruining something like 1-2 fps, on 42Mhz is a little bit better, but still not fun to play (and not according to today's standard's, but back then ). On 42Mhz is running something like Citadel on A500.
When I lower window, it starts to get playable.

But I guess it's a huge step, just making a build that works!
Great job NovaCoder, and thanks.

I can record tomorrow, if anyone's interested, and, if there's not going to be another build soon.

Oh, and why it is always strafing when playing on wsad? How can I enable just regular rotation movement on player axis? I've been in the options, and tried to change it, but it's always doing strafe, instead if rotation.

No worries, can't believe it actually runs LoL

To disable straffing check the icon's Tooltypes and disable straffing.

You should also set the mouse speed to max

Ok, here 's the video.
Apology for my awful spoken English

[ Show youtube player ]

0:33 - 14 Mhz 68000
4:37 - 42 Mhz 68000

What I forgot to say, is that CRT screen really nicely blur's the pixels, so this looks (not plays yet ) much smoother then on my friends 286's and 386's back then, where pixels were HUGE on these old PC monitors.
-----------------

Little off topic:
Few month a go a recorded a video of Cyberwolf by Britelite, and you can see how smooth it can be (even on 14 Mhz), when the game is (from the start), programmed with Amiga's hardware in mind.

This demo deserves so much more attention, then it gets.
Hopefully this will improve over time.
I am posting it, in case, someone missed it.

Thanks for the video, it's great to see my old port running on a 68000

It's quite funny actually because this port was originally built for AGA 060 (SDL based) but then I had loads of requests to support 030 AGA so that happend. After that people wanted a 64 color OCS/ECS port and finally I got the Vampire guys asking me to support RTG
