Sounds great

I keep thinking that you might do something like DOS did, where long filenames were converted to 8-dot-3 format. E.g. you could make "AlienBreedTowerAssaultAGA.Slave" become "AlienBreedTowerAssau~1.Slave". In that way, you can just search for the first letters until the "~" and you will know which result to select by the "1"

It works like a charm here on ClassicWB Adv SP.
Don't forget to delete the TinySys.cfg if there was a previous versions (before TT deactivation).

Ok, yes after I delete the S/Tinylauncher stuff it runs. But I get a Gibs Meditation about 88% through the A-Z Games scan.

It's a second level scan. The last number I see before the crash is 2688 games.

I'm using the KG compilation + retroplay updates so I have a few more games folders than you.

@Gibs: what about switching directory for *.tl scripts? Because game paths are stored in database anyway. This will allow users do not use any cd command in *.tl script to switch directory to game path when we want to execute any game or demo from *.tl script. Because right now I must add cd command as I mentioned in my previous posts, showing *.tl examples.

Cool ! Now it would be cool to know if the missing ones are only the slaves that directories contains multiple slaves.

Beta57:
Still misses slaves with long names. E.g. PsygnosisMusicPictureDisc.slave

I have had no crashes scanning demos and games.

Same here, the games I mentioned previous are not picked up while scsnning with the latest beta. On my Amiga it actually makes no difference with the previous beta.

I also tested the letest beta with UAE, a lot of long name games aren't picked up.

That's a good question. I have over 1000 game on my hd. I don't know exactly which games have multiple slaves. Very time consuming to check this out.

I've just tested the last two betas again to be sure. There are 1355 games in DH2:ECS and 104 games in DH2:AGA. S:TinyLauncher was removed before testing each version.

Here are the results:

tl21: 1355 ECS games, 104 AGA games listed
tl22b55: 1319 ECS games, 100 AGA games listed
tl22b57: 1319 ECS games, 100 AGA games listed

Yeah, not bad at all :P

Well, the easiest one is the AGA list:

AlienBreedTowerAssaultAGA
ImpossibleMission2025AGA
MarvinsMarvellousAdvAGA
NigelMansellsWrldChmpAGA

And I'll try my best to find the games missing in ECS, I know at least the SensibleWorldOfSoccer9595 / 9697 and euro games are not listed.

I can give you the results of my demos collection:

Tiny Launcher detects 347 out of 350 demos. The missing demos all have long file names, and all the detected demo slaves have shorter names.

Here is the list of slaves that are not detected by beta57:
MobileDestinationUnknown.slave
PsygnosisMusicPictureDisc.Slav
UltimateGameboySimulator.Slave

This test was performed in WinUAE 2.4.1.0 running on a ClassicWB Full v27 HDF file.

Regarding the Psygnosis Music Picture Disc, it actually behaves a bit strange. In the zip file it came in, the slave is called "PsygnosisMusicPictureDisc.Slave", but after unpacking it in Directory Opus, all lists show it as "PsygnosisMusicPictureDisc.Slav". The PsygnosisMusicPictureDisc.info Tool Types point to "PsygnosisMusicPictureDisc.Slave", but the demo launches just fine from the icon, even though the slave is missing the last letter in the lists. This strange scenario is not present for the other two examples, though...
