Blizzard 1260 & SCSI Kit - 1230.scsi upgrade question

I have a Blizzard 1260 & SCSI kit in my machine and the version number for 1230scsi.device shows as 8.2 in HDToolBox.

I understand the latest version is 8.5?

Is it possible to upgrade to 8.5? If so how? Is it worth it and what are the risks?

I have all the latest software from the following website already installed in my OS3.9 system :

Thanks,
Lee.
