Install CDrom in A1200? Need 5V help plz

Hi All

New problem with CDrom it need 5v where do i fine 5v on the M/B of the A1200

Let me guess your next problem: it also needs 12v.

Look near the power supply connector.

Also consider whether you want to proceed with this mod if you need to ask this question.

The slim Laptop IDE CDRom is ONLY 5v, and does not need 12v

Sorry to invade the thread but is it possible to have this drive just sat on top of the 1200 with the lead just trailing from the motherboard, reason I ask is I dont always want the cd drive connected and not entirly confident (or dont wish) to cut up the casing just yet.

I'm using 5V from Floppy drive, you can buy or make a splitter cable.

Or you can stream the CD over a wireless network.....no cutting required
