Topaz 8 is too small
I got one of these UHD monitors and realized that the workbench runs fine in 4k. But the default tpaz font that old stuff like delitracker uses is way too small(still readable).
I know there are ways to patch it to other 8 point fonts but that would not solve the issue I have. Is there any way to scale it? |

not tested, but worth a try:
if you for example patched delitracker to use funny font size 8. and this funny font has size 11 too, just replace the font size 8 with 11: copy fonts:funny/11 -> fonts:funny/8 so the program will load "fonts:funny/8" which is size 11 now. |

yes the topaz font sucks in high res, was designed for a resolution of 640x256
in aminet there are some patches or fonts replacements for this issue check here http://aminet.net/search?query=replace+topaz |

But the programs won't change their window size. If the font is bigger than 8x8 it simply draws outside of the GUI elements. A program which uses Topaz even if the user selected other fonts in preferences, then the program is not font sensitive and won't change its GUI size.

I dont know if its the fault of high resolution screens that we have nowadays, or its just more that age is biting our asses
We are not getting any younger. |

It's a general problem with ultra high res displays. Try remote desktoping from a 3200x1800 13" display like I have, 1280x960 remote looks tiny and it's hard to make it scale, depending on OS.

It would be nice (not a complete solution to this problem though) if you could define scan-doubled RTG modes in WinUAE. So e.g. 3840×1080 would have the same tall pixel aspect as a normal high-res non-interlaced Workbench. And 8-pixel Topaz would be double height.

Just make it Autoscale/Autocenter/FullscreenMax and select any screenmode you want in UAE. Don't see the problem here.
