Spheroid - New Puzzle Game

Spheroid is a puzzle game in which you guide a metal sphere around a maze of tiles towards the exit tile, within a time limit and set number of moves.

The maze is comprised of various hazards and tile types, each having a different effect on the metal sphere. There are 50 levels to solve.

Spheroid will run on any OCS/ECS/AGA Amiga with at least 1Mb of RAM and AmigaOS versions 1.2 up to 3.2. It can be run directly from floppy disk or installed to hard disk.

The game is free, but a donation is welcome which will be used to maintain and expand original hardware.

I love games like this and that main menu / tutorial screen is really efficient. Well done.

I could do without the lives system though. Puzzle games and lives... meh. Also I could do without the movement sound on normal tiles, it gets a little on the nerves after a few levels. The music and the unique sounds on special tiles are more than enough to break the silence.

Thanks for kind comments!

@gimbal... interesting thoughts about SFX. If there is a demand and I do a sequel, I will think about additional SFX options!

I'll get this for the Mrs, she's into puzzle games. Trying to get her into Amiga

Any cheat code / whdload trainer to give her infinite lives would be great

Awesome work!! Looks really neat. I like to see different genres of games, and this one is another type of game we have seen lately. So love it.

And yep, would love to see some additional SFX options or scores to get high scores. or perhaps even a multiplayer challenge or something (think split screen fastest to exit or one screen with timer with the fastest winning the game or something like that).

Interesting ideas. If there is demand for a sequel, these are options I could include possibly!

The game is really nice, thanks for making it!
Just the loading times are awful (at least on disk, around 4 minutes on my A500), perhaps a big tileset would be better next time instead of using many single iff's for each gfx. :-)

Agreed about loading time. Hopefully my chip tune and the lovely loading screen by Toni Galvez eased the pain slightly? ;-)

I'm actually writing an article for WhatIFF? magazine at the moment about my experiences creating the graphics for the game and I mention that exact thing and how in the future it'll be more sensible to crop individual tiles and images from one large bitmap!

*HUGE* thanks to those who donated on the Itch page. I'm able to cover the cost of the GOTEK drive I bought a few months back!
