It was a gift for you AmiGame programmer. How is this support for a community in any kind? Toni got Amiga hardware from Cloanto, because he allowed them to use WinUAE on their CDs/DVDs.That's a kind of support imho.

I'm a bit dense, but can you elaborate what's the difference?

Or is it because Toni could potentially extract some useful info from the hardware provided? Or is AniGame something that is not useful to the community in any way (I'm not familiar with AniGame).

IIRC, wasn't it Toni's preference to receive such support by means of hardware donations in Cloanto's case?

I just don't see any difference in between Cloanto supporting Toni and some other developer (which apparently is a frontend for winuae?), so I don't "get" what Retro-Nerd is trying to say.

The form of support isn't particularly important, as I understand Cloanto didn't have to support either one in any way, so ANY support is better than none, right?

Edit: Oh wait. "Toni allowed"? Is WinUAE GPL or is it not? (couldn't see it in WinUAE about page, but isn't it originally a fork of UAE, which is? has license changed at some point?)

Toni got hardware, so he can improve WinUAE with his logic analyzer gadgets. What can a frontend programmer do with an Amiga Forever 2008 DVD? Looks more like a promotional gift.

Well, that's true. But does everything have to have immediate production value until it can be considered as a form of support?

Companies need to stop encouraging employees with bonuses then.

So basically it should be like this then.

1. Sell Amiga Forever without any free-software in it.
2. During installing of Amiga Forever it will ask to download WinUAE for free from www.winuae.net

So they only sell the paid-parts of their product.

So why? There is no point in not selling free software.
It would be fair if Cloanto donated some of his revenue to support Toni's efforts, but actually he did so (in hardware) and we have no information on the extent.

EDIT: By "free" I mean GPL and similar licenses.

I'm mainly (if not only) interested in knowing what games are included this time, and whether they've bundled any CDTV/CD³² stuff what with the new RP9 update.

Still curious to know why the unique AF version of Another World was included only in the 2006 version.
