Announcing new K601MB 1mb A600 chipmem board

Hi All,

Title says it all. I have built a budget 1mb chipmem board for the A600. It will be ready in about 3 weeks. there will be 2 prices for it, with/without the RTC circuit





Price will be $34 US with clock circuit and $29 without the clock circuit components. The battery is a CR1220 and cannot be included due to mail restrictions.

, i got to leave something for the imagination. I did make a couple of changes to the final revision that is now on order. The clock circuit now has a enable/disable jumper (or possible switch for those that don't like jumpers. The connector is not a cut down connector, it is the correct size for the header.

Did you think of adding a clockport? Probably not use to many but with RapidRoad and soon to come Prisma Megamix it could be useful in an accelerated A600.

Hi All,

I finally got the 1mb chipmem board for the A600 finished. I decided to call it the K601MB.

The board has a few features that i hope people like,

- 1mb chipmem
- RTC clock (optional) with clock disable jumper
- Yulquen74's multiROM select option (need permission to use it first)
- clockport (nothing to try it with)

Show the memory available (the extra 1MB chipmem is located at $100000 - $1fffff)...




Next shows the K601MB hooked up to control the rom select. This
A600 has KS1.3 and KS 3.1 on a 27F800 EPROM that can now be
controlled via the K601MB board. 1 wire has to be connected from
the K601MB board to pin 1 of the ROM chip. You can also use a
27F160 for 4 Roms by hooking up a second wire from the board to
pin 42 of the 27F160. No external switches and cutting of the case

You wouldn't need to solder the jumper either, the ROM pins will
connect to a cable i would make

I would be interested in one of those for my Amiga 600HD.

What exactly are the max specs for this expansion port and what can you build? Is it only 1mb Max Ram and a RTC? Can you add a Level 7 Int? What about a custom HRT-Mon rom?

I don't know much about electronics :/ Hey can you build a TTL Mag Card reader ??

Hi,

designs are pretty well limited to the signals available on the 80 pin expansion port for the A600, so yes, it's just another chipmem board for the A600 with the bonus features.
