Cumana CAX 354 question

So, what's the switch on the rear of my external Cumana CAX 354 floppy drive for? Is this for DF1/2 assignment or something else entirely?

prowler, i'm a fan of these drives and i have one working bad. I a past thread you told us how to open it but inthe scheme i don't see specific point of pressure but the back. Can you be more specific? Thanks!
