functions benchmark
since as it seems there is a number of optimisation efforts id like to ask how the optimisation in perticular areas can be measured practically. is there any available benchmarks or test cases to profile functions of say exec, dos, layers or intuition one by one?
im asking this because comparing results of new aros exec on 68k against the old one and against the 3.1 one delivered some conclusions. it would be profitable to gain more detailed results in critical areas to find the notorious bottlenecks. |

Should be simple to just call a function 100k+ times and log the execution time? Or were you thinking of a finished program which could test the functions individually and display the results?

actually i thought about a finished program, as i actually cant code. of course it souns simple and might be a good excercise to do, though, im not sure if the results would be dependable if id program it. i might not think of some particularities, such benchmark needs to be dependable, and also might not understand a particular function well to make a dependable testcase for it. therefore i thought about something ready to use, to get pretty soon some results.
