Actually, I think I might have heard/read somewhere that setting the max transfer in 3.1.4 is not required. I can't find the source of that now.

If you want pcmciaspeed and pcmciacheck then yes, just copy it to C: but you'll probably won't ever use it.

Do you have a picture of it 'blocking' the file copy/move, so that we can understand it a bit better.

A small correction, it is a block size, not a rate. :-)

Thanks, corrected. I knew that, but not sure why I said rate!

Well it would be hard to capture this as it is literally a flash, like a quick flash and then nothing. Also when I typed the MOVE command (I have limited shell command knowledge btw) it would not let me move any files. I had to just use copy command instead. I will see if I can film the file not copying thing or see what happens when I try to copy using the command line. I think the same thing happens for certain files but I can't recall right now.

Sorry to jump in on an old thread

I have 3.1.4 Roms and if I try to boot with my network card (3COM 3c589) then my HD won't boot if I have the full 8mb enabled on my card, it will boot fine from 4mb and load everything up.

My current workaround is to boot in 8mb mode and then install the PCMCIA network card, this is working fine withing Miami32b it is just annoying that I then can't reboot or do a soft reset with the PCMCIA card inserted!

As this happend at Kickstart I assume we would need an updated Kickstart ROM if they were to fix the issue?

I would buy 3.1.5 rom (fixed) and OS for sure, it they solve this annoying problem with PCMCIA slot (network card) and 8mb of ram.

I was thinking about PLIPBOX which would avoid using PCMCIA slot totally. However, they are still a bit pricy.
