AmigaDAW Project (Digital Audio Workstation)

It's been a long time I'd like to share in my opinion what are the best audio programs for classic amigas. I have a full working setup of them in my ClassicWB FULL that I'd love to upload but, you know, the rights...

So, I ask you to tell me what will be the best option to make a ClassicWB-like installation intended for audio on 3.x ecs amigas.

I think stripping all the copyrighted material from my hd setup with something like crc-checking will do the magic, but it's beyond my knowledge to do the batch or whatever for this.

Moreover, I think this setup would attract more retrofans to the amiga community, so I'd like it to be as polished and accesible as possible. Any idea where to start?

I have include a list with the software I would include (I would ask permission if possible and give credits to all the authors).

Sample Editors:
AudioMaster IV, Audition 4, Aural Illusion, DSS-3, SFX, SinED

Tools:
InfoMod, ModuleInfo, Optim8svx, Optim19, OptiMod, replbody, chunked

Sheet music: Aegis Sonix, Deluxe Music

Converters/rippers:
AmiSox, ExoticRipper, MOD2SMP, MultiSample, ProWizard, SoundConvert, SoundBox

Speech Synthesis: Speak2Sample, SpeechToy, accent

SoftSynths: 4BC, AvSynth, FMsynth*, FM-Synth, Lowengard software, Synthia, WonderSound, AMP

Players/Editors:
AHX, AlgoMusic, DigiBooster, MusiclineEditor, NewTracker-AHI, Octamed4, OctaMED5, Protracker2.3D, Protracker3, QuadraComposer, Soundstudio, STProII, XModule, and the SUPERB pt1210 by Akira & H0ffmann

The full pack is available for archive preservation purpose at

AMIGADAW

PT1210 by Akira & H0ffmann is available HERE, also links to the best mod collection ever seen

every program is essential, I would explain them in every point, but my english skills are limited and it would take me a long time... I would respond if you ask about that.

It would include all of my sample libraries and some bonus stuff like BEST-OF-AMIGA-MUSIC we would vote, along with books and docs

I dont know if this is hard to do... but I will do it. Anyone wants to help?

UPDATE 5/2016: Included a beta installation pack. Tested on top of BETTERWB3.8

PS: I dont know if this is the right place for this, please move it if needed.

First problem is to contact all the authors for software you want to include. Next problem is to build it in any kind. Should it be a full package and for which config (only ECS?)? I guess better would be just the installed software on a plain? OS3.1.

Description is much work but shouldn`t be difficult. Most stuff you can get from readmes (just copy important parts).

I could recommend some more tools I think they are useful.

@turrican3 thank you mate, I will start doing the asking-permission thing and then we'll see
@daxb intended for ecs but compatible with aga. It means 68020 with 1mb chip and 2mb fast will be enough, also a plain A1200. I would be glad if you share your favs, since you are a legend IMHO, you will be credited for my proud. :-)

I guess you are confound me with someone. Here are some tools you might have a look for: AHIRecord, BarsnPipes, Beatific (just a BPM "finder"), Deverb, ModInfo (if not the same as ModuleInfo), mp3toSV, The Player (maybe), SamplitudeOpus, scope_xt4 (for the fun), SerialRipper, TechnoSoundTurbo2, TREG, wav28svx, HippoPlayer, Play16, SongPlayer, 303emu, 303Tracker, SynthGUI2 (Blueberry/Loonies), SAM, Samples Creator, Spectrum, Niva.

Beta version released

Added beta version. All copyrighted stuff removed from installation.
If you want to test it, just unpack it in root folder of latest BetterWB installation.

todo: assure permissions, add bars&pipes, fix some icon tooltypes and add media stuff.

some CC / ideas are welcome!

The Player converter is actually quite handy to include. You can use it to test your tunes are compatible for a demo / intro, but it also doubles as a module optimiser.

Now I know optimod is included, but that doesn't support PT tunes that are over 64 patterns and also really loses the plot if the tune is over 1 meg.

The only thing this is now missing is a f*&k off huge sample pack!

PS - Otherwise, bloody great work ADR!

Thank you! I really don´t have the skills to accomplish this work (doing the ClassicWB-style setup script and so), I really beg for someone to help with this, as this would attrack WITH NO DOUBT more people to the amiga world.

PS: 1st post updated with a beta installation pack. You can use it with BetterWB3.8 (warning: it will overwrite user-startup in such installation
