Return of some Bitmap Brothers titles?

Just read this:

http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33868885

and an official site:

http://www.speedball2.de/

Looks like remakes on the PC are moving more and more into the commercial sector.

EDIT: Just changed thread title - appears the rights have been sold so the bitmaps won't actually be making these games.

I got SpeedBall 2100, and it was not fun as Speedbal 2.

I agree.

Interesting this remake has kept the older title speedball 2 rather than speedball wars or whatever, so perhaps they intend to keep it close to the original?

Just have to wait and see.

Let's hope that it will stay closer to SB2 instead to SB2100.

New Chaos Engine would be interesting. Don't they call it Doom 3, RE or Blood?

I won't be holding my breat. Why does it look as though all of the characters have been ripped straight outta Quake 3/Unreal Tourn/Unreal Champ?

'The cult image of both games comes from the beginning of the computer games era.'

Beginning? Historyless yoofs.

Well at least there will be a XBLA (Xbox 360) version of Speedball 2. According to the forums on the above mentioned site it will be a port of the Megadrive version. (don't know if that one was any good) Seems Mike Montgomery is supervising and producing this version, so could be interesting.

@Photon. My thoughts exactly.

unless Dan Malone does the graphics, the game will not look/feel like SB2. that game was simple and elegant. People can't make games like this anymore.

Credits to Cameron Davis for this cartoon would have been nice.
