Sorry, I've uploaded to TheZone. Hope it works for you and is the correct version.

Thanks, but unfortunately it does not work. It can encode layer 2 with no problem but layer 1 fails miserably (either crashes 8000000A or writes empty file).

Hmm... here it works (A1240 3.1) when I load an AIFF to Ram, Export -> MPG, Check Layer I and hit Start button. After some time it is finished and can be played with mpega for example. Unfortunately I can't upload but maybe someone else can do it? So meynaf can use it.

MPEG 1 Layer I is not used at all IMHO (practically used and also not directly in DCC as mutated version called PASC) - conformance official bitstreams are available here:
ftp://ftp.tnt.uni-hannover.de/pub/MP...g1/compliance/

btw - may be useful to check this https://www.underbit.com/resources/m...io/compliance/

Player tested today with a few flac files.
I used all the methods and with my setup (blizzard 1260/66) I always got clear sound.
Good job!

Pegase makes files audio MPEG-1 Layer 1

http://aminet.net/package/mus/misc/Pegase
http://aminet.net/package/mus/misc/Pegase_src

ADPCM4 is less demanding and has better sound quality than MPEG-1 Layer 1

in the archive DelfAIFF there are sources of players "Amiga" AIFF-ADP4 (DVI/IMA-ADPCM4)

Finally a program able to encode these layer1 ! (First try ended in 8000000F but hopefully winuae can emulate fpu.)
Thanks.

The goal is to have reference streams for a multi-format player, not really using that format (which i know is useless).

This package requires Delfina DSP board, i.e. it's useless for me.

I know that the player is for Delfina DSP, but in the archive there is a description of the AIFF-ADP4->PCM16 decoder, which probably anyone who has an concept of programming will understand.

In the archive there is only binary and source code. No such thing as "description". And no, I won't decipher all that code just for a format that does not interest me much.
And anyway this format isn't really on the agenda right now. More common formats such as mpeg audio (all layers) have to be done first.

In addition this thread is about a flac player, which perhaps needs extra testing before any other format is implemented.

That said, if YOU have a concept of programming then i could give you the interface data needed to add a format in my program and thus you do it

When it comes to lossless compression, the most interesting codec for Amiga is the TTA (True Audio)

"True Audio compresses up to 30% of the original, broadly similar to FLAC and APE. It features a real-time encoding and decoding algorithm"

It uses similar algorithms than FLAC and thus isn't expected to be any faster.

Not successful in the other thread, trying it here too ?
What do you expect ?
If it's so easy, write the TTA decoder yourself !
