Ignition is the emptiest table of Dreams&Fantasies but I enjoy it much more than "Billion $ Gameshow".
Ignition has great atmosphere. I think its good bgm and awesome sound FX play a big role in its appeal. |

Well, my favorites are Nightmare & Steel Wheel, but I also enjoy BeatBox and Ignition.
I agree Party Land is the best table out of Dreams & Fantasies but I still prefer Dreams over Fantasies. |

The Ignition table actually rocks because it's much harder than the others. First I didn't like it much but it grew on me.

I prefer 'Nightmare' because it so flipping annoying
I'm not sure if I'm thinking of another pinball game here but I vaguely remember a board that had some sort of gravity field somewhere in the middle of it, which made the ball swerve in an arc around it, I think. |

I like Pinball Dreams the most out of the series too.
You know what they say: the original and the best. What a well put together game it is - graphics, sound effects, music - all spot on. Addictive stuff - it's provded me a welcome break from coding things many a time. |

Umm ... nobody. Badly worded, sorry.
It was not really a comparison. It was supposed to read "Don't wildly 'mention them in same breath', lumping together ALL 21st century pinball games regardless of the target platform". Without a doubt they did not care about quality on the PC platform. Personally, I think that the reason was money (as usual). Luminaries as the Digital Illusions guys (aka TSL) cost a fortune to hire. So from the looks of it, they tried to solve the problem of budget shortages by hiring a less pricey crew. |

Huh? Who mentioned Slam Tilt in this thread? I only talked about the DI games here. Yeah, and about the PC game that shares the name with one of course.

Actually just had quick peek at Mean Machines table and the sound effects have been ripped from Pinball Dreams
i'd go so far as to say that some have even been sampled then tweaked |

Slam Tilt is faulty. The ball seems to have a mind of it's own at times and sometimes accelerates for no apparent reason, making it soooooo unreal.
Dreams/Illusions/Fantasies FTW! |

Slam Tilt actually rocks! Best pinball game on Amiga in my opinion. Lots of mini-games that make it fun to play. I don't know why anyone would complain about the ball physics, I never found it unrealistic and I played it to death.
