Best games for an arcade cabinet

I am interested in putting some of these games on my arcade cabinet and was wondering whether there was a top 500 games list which are "cabinet friendly" and which are good games (of course).

I like "James Pond" ..... but would really like to hear about other games people enjoy a lot .....

Well the following are very arcade friendly!

Rodland
New Zealand Story
Rainbow Islands
Qwak
Pang
Super Stardust
Ruff 'n Tumble
Cybernetix
Transplant

There's probably more too, but I think these are a great start.

Fightin' Spirit is absolutely perfect. It looks and plays just like an SNK/Neo Geo arcade fighting game. Deluxe Galaga is also one worthy of cabinet play, since it's even BETTER than the arcade original version of Galaga.

I agree that Deluxe Galaga would be a great cabinet game (complete with high score saving)

You could also consider simpler type games such as Pang, Pipeline, Mine Runner or Dr Mario.

oh, stop it, this makes me wanna put Gravity-Force in my Cherry cab and wire the controls to an Atari style panel...

Anyway, Graftgold made quite a few games that would work in a cab... Rainbow Islands is obvious, IIRC it was so close to the coin-op that you had to press a key to insert coins before starting? Simulcra... Paradroid 90... Rally Cross Challenge...

...And don't forget Nebulus and Bubble Bobble! Or Aunt Arctic Adventure? Giana Sisters...

Well, I don't want to offend people here, I think you should primarily look towards Neo Geo games.
There were, and are, the best Arcade games in my opinion.

I totally agree with you Garth, Neo-Geo are the best

However in regards to this thread, I think unclet is trying to work out what Amiga games would be best to run through his cab

Just check the CD32200 (and some of the other CD32 clollections ) All those games can be run with out keyboard.

I've been poking arond trying to fix a good collection of games that would work on my neo-geo candy cab. All arcade conversion are out, since you've got the PCBs or mame.. that just leaves amiga "only" games, preferebly the CD32WHD versions.
(This is just a dir dump, so some of the games/names aren't 100% checked (logical still needs keyboard for no reason), and some games req trackball)

I have both an Amiga in an arcade cabinet and a PC in a cabinet running emulators (mostly MAME). The games on the amiga cabinet we play the most are:

Deluxe Galaga (Warblade on the PC cabinet)
Battle Squadron
SWIV
SkidMarks (can't remember which version, maybe Super)
International Karate + (My favourite beat'em'up)
Lotus 1/2/3
Stuntcar Racer
Wings
Rainbow Islands
Bubble Bobble
Supercars 2
Ruff'n'Tumble
Ghosts'n'Goblins
