Caps dat as name release
I ran a romcenter caps .dat fix. Got a bit miffed when all the dirs where named release number – game name. Ie “0001 wizardwars” and so on..
So I ran a macro conversion over the dat file and made it gamename – release number instead... anyone else wants it the file is attached. All creds to pauloB hotROMs@hotmail.com who did the original . dat. Once I get some time I'll prol strip the caps xml to add AGA/OCE and others to the dat. *Edit* removed, duke's got a nicer one further down.. and it's got most of the images in tosec format.(1629) Last edited by spiff; 04 October 2004 at 10:26. |

Errr, where did you get the dat from? The official dat certainly does not put the release number first... and I'm pretty sure the TOSEC version doesn't either.
Anyway, the official XML package was designed so you could name things how you like. |

You also find the official DAT (actually DAT generation tools) here: http://www.caps-project.org/files/datafiles.zip. But it is not as good as the TOSEC DAT in that it does not contain publisher/year information. You will need an XML-XSLT capable browser (IE, Mozilla, Firefox) to use it.

Well that TOSEC dat is sort of unoffical, since the main TOSEC site hasn't been updated with new dats yet.

Or maybe the Unofficial Official Dat?
Especially since what is on the site is not really a DAT. |
