Hi Minuos,

firstly thanks for taking the time to port the game to Amiga!
I played it under UAE and it is a nice game.

On my 60mhz BPPC/060 and Voodoo3 p96 A1200 it is still very slow.
It doesnt seem to utilise the PPC despite stating PPC support in the readme. Is PPC for OS4 only?

There seems to be a misunderstanding: I never claimed PPC support, I recommended a PowerPC-based system. Not quite the same thing. All the code is 68020 code, however, my understanding is that a fast PPC should be able to emulate such code faster than a genuine 680x0 would run it. It should presumably run fine on OS4 but testing has been done under OS3.9.

Of course you could recompile for PPC if desired...I don't have PPC nor OS4.

Thanks for clarifying that minuous.

Your requirements list needs rewritten so as to be less ambiguous....

Requires (Amiga version): 68040+, OS3.1+, AGA/RTG.
Recommended (Amiga version): PowerPC, RTG.

Seems perfectly clear to me, I'm not sure how it could be made clearer...suggestions?

Hi Minuous, the majority of PPC based Amigas are classic machines running PowerUP or WarpOS through P96/CGX gfx cards.
They seem to meet the recommended requirement, but in fact their PPCs arent supported.
Only 68020 code exists, which is sped up by emulation through PPC. Am I right in thinking that this is only feasible on AmigaOne PPC systems?

I think I see what you mean...

...PPC-equipped Classic Amigas don't have any support for 68K emulation, the code runs on the real 680x0 rather than via emulation. So it would probably be best to change the "PowerPC" in the "Recommended" field to "MorphOS/AmigaOS4".

Hmm, maybe Petunia should be ported to OS3, I wonder why no one has done this.
