The computer had to come first so that there could be a community,so that would make it more important.(In my humble opinion)

Logical, however, if you have something that is pure crap, unless you have endless resources to promote said fecal matter, then there will still be no community supporting it, well perhaps an insignificant amount

The community made the Amiga and the Amiga made the Amiga!
You couldn't have one without the other! |

OOps I got that wrong
I meant The Community made the Amiga and the Amiga made the community. Without Amiga there wouldn't have been the "same" community, but without the community there would have been no Amiga!!! |

Obviously.
Without Amiga Power, and before that ZZAP!64 the respective machines wouldn't have kept my interest for so long and it is also that era's relation to the present that keeps my interest in that time. |

I feel the amiga expeience was more than the SENSI SOCCER THRASHING, TURBO GOAL DESTROYING APACHE GUNSHIP ANIHILATING, BAB5 RENDERING platform we shared with our friends and family, raved about at school or work etc.
To me the amiga is more than just a platform... for a lot of us Die-Harders it was a way of life.... only the cool kids had Amiga's and from 1989 to 1997 the domination of MY platfrom, my community... dare i say it... my amiga-naught brothers and sisters, reigned supreme.... I Learned German, French and Dutch, not from school.... oh no.... but from the Demo Scene Baby!!!!.. "Das Und De World" or something like that. The Amiga Experience for me was being part of what became somethin so big (WORLD DOMINATING) that dispite cheap and nasty consoles combined with the goss mis-managment of CBM, Escom (and the such like) that proves to me atleast the Amiga Experience was more about the comunity than the computer, however not to discount the computer as this pol kinda shows so far (atleast) the Amiga computer was the HAM8 IFF campfire we all gathered arround, bantered, played and comunicated..... remeber the BBS sence ? ... was the Gnome at home... i am trying to remeber a time he wasn`t lol.... *phew... might have to shed a tear..... * |

Thanks for bringing this thread back, dunno why i've missed it
Looking from the perspective of time, the community - obviously - MADE the Amiga what it was. At least at the time and place I've started |
