Question Problem with WHDLoad SWOS

I've transfered my .CAR saved files (from the original SWOS 96-97) across to the saved directory of the WHDLoad version which I installed from the same original 96-97 disks. This WHDLoad version however, doesn't see the files. It only shows the files that it has created itself through the WHDLoad version. Why is that?

Also, after I'd saved the game the screen started to go into some sort of loop between the main menu and save game screen. I had to press escape to stop it from looping. This only happened a couple of times when I saved the game and then I was unable to reproduce it. Strange.

That's because filenames are strored in Galahad.root file. Putting files only in directory will not any result. You must also add record to this file.

Easiest way....

Is do a load of fake saves.

i.e. save lots of the same savegames but under the names of your savegames from your disk.

When you've done that, copy your savegames from your disk directly over the fake ones in the data directory.

Ta da.... you don't have to edit the file (as you also have to store the size of the filename as well!) and it couldn't be easier.
