Indivision AGA 1200 WB problem
I have just installed a new Indivision AGA 1200. WHDLoad games look great but I cannot change & save the workbench display mode using ScreenMode Preferences. I am just stuck with 320x256. I am using OS3.9
Can anyone help please?? |

Have you tried the indivision config software ?
http://icomp.de/indexe.htm - click support and its at the top (you have to flash the card) remember to Save your settings in the config tool before you reboot (even though it prompts a reboot, go back into the tool and save settings before you do(otherwise it will screw up the display... |

When I reboot I also get an error message: cybergraphics.library not found, or wrong version.
I have not used my A1200 for quite some time and I am unsure if this library file was missing in the past. Would this be causing the problem? |

The Indivision might be clashing with some other software on your system - this occured to me when I installed CacheCDFS (to install a CD Rom) - if I mounted CD0: on startup the Indivision threw a wobbly - I suppose because Poseidon hadn't started at that stage the whole system got confused... I don't know why but it resulted in the screen (although the Indivision was giving a display) not being able to be configured in prefs during this state - once I removed CD0: and re-booted it was fine - I now mount CD0: manually once Poseidon has started and it seems fine ...
There might be some software on your Amiga that could be causing a similar clash possibly...? Might be a case of just going through your system and start-up to check what you have running - do you need the cybergraphics software installed? Catch you tomorrow - it's 2 o/c here! I think you have somehow selected a RTG graphics mode to use instead of a native AGA mode.
If you're starting again after years of not using it, it might be a good idea to install a fresh hard drive or IDE-Compact Flash card and install Workbench 3.1 from scratch. |

I think I have partly solved the problem. I connected my old SCSI CD Rom drive and hey presto it works! Puzzling why I need the drive connected to enable higher resolution. I disconnected the drive and it reverts back to the old problem. I have a Blizzard 1230 with SCSI. I am unsure how to solve this new problem

Seems like we are both mounting a CD ROM - you via SCSI and me via USB and we are both experiencing Indivision problems...
If you move (don't delete) CD0: from Devs/Dosdrivers and then re-boot I wonder if your system would boot and your Indivision would be fine?? It may be the case that we both need to mount Dos devices later on in our start-up sequences - I don't know really as this is getting a bit above my basic understanding but maybe someone else has an opinion... When I don't connect my CD Rom to the Blizzard 1230 scsi, I get a requester complaining about it - if I don't close it, then of course workbench will not refresh itself to a non-standard screenmode (other than 640x256). Removing the CD dosdriver as suggested by Peter, or connecting the CD drive would prevent this requester from appearing.
Could it be that you are not getting this requester at all, and workbench is expecting you to close the requester, therefore no change in screenmode? It is annoying that the CD0 is not ignored if the CD drive is not connected. Note: The behaviour is no different with or without the indivision. |

Could it be intuition waiting for the nag requester to be closed first?
