Please try Turrican 2, enter the first level (not the title screen!) and quote the number of frames while moving right (ie screen scrolling)...

Rick Dangerous with 2 frameskip means 25 frames. That is 50% speed with a game that does not use any hardware tricks whatsoever.
Unless it means in that emulator that 2 frames are skipped after one rendered in which case it is 33%.

Anyway ST emulation is realistic.

tty in a year IFW.. i really hate those "that doesnt work, thats bullsh*t" people.. if all had that attitude we still would live in caves.. And bitching around that the FIRST release of this emu is kinda slow is just lame..

And with more then 955 Posts you should know the Edit button.. double posts are lame

Nobody bitches, it's pretty cool, but please don't claim it is near full speed etc when it is evidently not.

I am still waiting the framerate for turrican 2, or beast or whatever that actually pushes the amiga hardware.

Even with 21 posts , you should be able to notice those posts have different text.

But let's not make this petty: yuo are very happy with the slowish amiga emulation that psp can proivde you, good for you. I however like Beast or Battle Squadron running at 50 frames per second, and now for fact that unless the game code is hacked the cpu power provided by the psp is just not enough to properly emulate those with all effects displayed, like sprite multiplexing and sprite dma re-use. It's not about living in caves, but wishful thinking vs hardware reality.

psp2 will run amiga emulators fine, psp can't unless they sell a better hardware under the same name.

I have to confess I am impressed. This is after all a v0.1 release. However, for my PERSONAL needs I will be getting an HTC Universal PDA/Phone (640*480, 520mhz CPU) and using UAE for PPC. After all, having a touch screen AND a keyboard as well as full speed should be just what the doctor orders and I dont want to cart around a PSP, a Phone and numbers of other devices.

IFI: No, not till September. Final specs.. well they are everywhere. Basically everything included but it wont be small but it willl fill in for a lot of toys in your pocket or briefcase - keyboard (no need for laptop), 3.5mm audio (no Ipod), 520mhz (no PSP, PXA270 clocks to 720mhz, games and emus should be great, did I mention that keyboard for controlling games as well), tri-band GSM and 3G (oh its a phone).

Two designs.. black and silver... depends what you like. Both look lovely. Oh and the screen has full swivel so U can close it like a lappy or have it open like a PDA.

I'm sold.....

Well, the PSP is released in Europe in September too! Did I mention that my current mobile phone is a Nokia 6210?

As soon as my duo pro card turns up I'll tell you what its like

The wait is killing me as Ive had my PSP for about 5 weeks now and have not been able to run a thing on it. (I cannot afford to buy a game for it atm as I spent over £200 on the actual PSP console and £85 on the duo card.)

I think he means PS2... Ive got one of those as well.. cost me £25 from a boot fair and works perfectly

I won the (v1.0 bios) PSP on ebay for £195 + £15 postage. Two days later, they cracked the v1.5 bios so I could of got one of those for £150.
