Comeback ? As in big commercial, nopes If they had lots of money etc, ofcourse, but thats not the topic.. Also the "owners" Amiga Inc, really sucks and they seem like know nothing about making any money (wanting to not make money it seems )..
So it will stay underground. |

I voted yes, it just need a huge company how take the risk but i think it's possible, because the people who owned one never forget it and every time i speaked about the possible comeback of the amiga to a old owner , he's very interresting, i don't know if it's just nostalgy??

I think there's more chance of me winning the Lottery at the weekend. Without buying a ticket.

perhaps IBM could make the difference, but perhaps it will be too risky.
They can make a new processor just for a new amiga something like the cell and why not a partenership with matrox, just for 2d. For 3d i searched something original but i don't find one. i think the new amiga must be different like the a 500 was. Hapilly we keeped the amigaOS and the best community. Hmm.. So many years, so many comeback`s, hehehe
Nopes, I`m afraid h.. freezes over first.. Unless they try a "Commodore" solution.. Making pc`s with the classic commodore logo on the chassis.. But then again, why even bother? |

the amiga as we know/knew it is gone for ever.
I would like to see te OS survive though with some modern functionality added and running on cheap hardware. The PS3 is ideal and would be nice if amiga/sony came to an arrangement where the os could have full control of the hardware and sont get to make a little money from it . sell it for the cost of a good game and those that want to do more with the hardware can |

The Amiga computers from the 80's/early 90's were in the golden age of computing for me. Back then computers were fun and the games highly playable. Computers from this era just make me Makes me glad I've stock piled an old skool Amiga collection |

I agree, I have personally followed the Amiga all since the Commodore bancruptcy and it have not been a good story. The sad part is that the owner now is the worst of them.
They havent really done anything right since they bought it.. Here is a little insight of the Amiga Inc scandal: http://moobunny.dreamhosters.com/cgi.../expand/141138 They could have done so much good, but they fucked up bigtime, and I dont look to bright on the future either.. But it will be sure interesting seeing what will happen with OS4 and Hyperion/Amiga Inc. Will they get new hardware license from Amiga Inc ? Its funny they have to use years to come to some small agreement |

But for me, its very good to have a real alternative to the big multi-user operating systems that are out now..(I get enough at work haha)
With Amiga os / Morphos i get the speed and all the settings are how I like it But now its a more underground hobby, still, just as fun. |

prehaps a big company will need a good OS and he has some choice and the amiga os 4.0 is one of them and if it takes the good, the amiga is back.
All is possible in computers business if a company have money and if this one is anbitious. I think he can keep the name because the amiga has a good reputation and for the new generation it will be something new. I don't want to loose the hope but i know so much of you will tell i believe in . |

I agree. Why, the other day i was wondering if japan can still win World War 2. All they have to do is resurface their old sunken ships, fix them, add new fighter jets, attack Hawaii (America is busy in Iraq) and occupy China by way of Korea (Making an alliance with Zimbabwe can help this). and there you go. |

Yes and after that Hitler will come out from a Jungle in Brazil and reclaim power in Europe, with the help of his ss friend who for most parts is just skeletons, but with some skintranplantation they look ok. Not to forget Lenin who will come out from a hidout in Syberia and reclaim power in Sovietunion. And Elvis will again be the king of MTV and have a comeback tour all over the world.... Yes and Denmark will once again be Viking Country |
