A1200 won't accept my CF card

Hi! I come from an A500 background and know nothing about A1200. I just got my first one.

It came with a CF card and a PCMCIA adapter. The card came formatted with fat16. After inserting the card the Amiga wouldn't ever mount it. So I fired WinUAE, formatted the card with FFS, inserted some ADF's... but yet the A1200 wouldn't mount the card.

The internal hard disk (CF) comes with WHDLoad. There I found a utility called "PrepCard". It acknowledges the existence of a card inside the PCMCIA slot, but then won't do anything else with it.

So... what exactly do I have to do to make that card work with the A1200? Where to put drivers (if any)?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Insert card, goto format in system folder and format cf0: quick, then it should work.

The Amiga cannot access CF cards unless a driver is installed for it. This driver can be found here:
http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/cfd

Also, you need a FAT driver before it will be able to read FAT filesystems, this is found here:
http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/fat95

FAT95 has an installation script while CFD is installed manually (see the readme).

Edit: Btw, Prepcard can be used with SRAM cards to configure them for either storage or memory, not CF cards.
