Commodore 64 with Tape Drive and Modem
I got a Commodore 64 here with a tape drive and modem, it looks like the VIC II chip is busted as when I power on the unit all I get is a grey checkerboard screen. I would like to keep it but as I can`t seem to find any VIC II chips anywhere it is just collecting dust, if anyone is interested I am looking to get around 20 quid for it or willing to swap it for some amiga parts/software.

I got a working c64c here which lacks the SID. If your SID is ok, you can make a working c64. (its PAL though).

Cheers mate that would be very cool, I think the SID chip is working. How much do you want for the machine?

I dunno ... 500 yen maybe ? a c64 without SID is pretty much useless you know
BUT ! This is a c64c, which has the 8580 SID. If you have breadbox c64 with 6510 SID, it won't work is your c64 c64c ? (white wedge shaped box) |

not really sure about that. also VIC is soldered on board. (unlike SID which is socketed)
