I know that, but but generally saying most web sites work. Most sites work even with Netsurf.

Let's be honest here, you can browse the web on AmigaOS4/MorphOS only if you carefully pick the sites you want to visit.
This is not true.

By a very loose definition of "work". How well does a small insignificant site like Youtube work again (and I do mean _work_, not kind-of-works-when-using-scripts-and-jumping-through-hoops)?

YouTube works ok for my use.. as it's been working for quite long time now. At one point I wasn't able to write comments or such, but then it started to work itself again few years ago.

But I can browse and watch videos, log in and comment etc. I think I only have the fullscreen script enabled for that to be able to play videos more smoothly and with less cpu load.

And embedded YT videos, for example, here on EAB do work just fine too.

Chromium is not Chrome. There is no need to use any Google-services in a chromium based browser.

There's no need, yet majority of chromium projects does just that. You need to search for obscure forks like ungoogled chromium to alleviate it.

Besides, there's no reason to support chromium's (ie google's) monopolization and enforcement of web standards when there's Firefox.

+1... at least use Linux so you know what you are building or running on.

This is why I stick to NetSurf and IBrowse. (I even have the Windows build of the former installed on my home PC, although usually I'm in Waterfox.)

@jPV:

You made a YouTube video about how to access YouTube!? If they can watch your video, they have no need to watch it. If they need to watch it, they can't. :-D

Ok, I was just wondering what you mean by "scripts-and-jumping-through-hoops", because it pretty much works like this without any scripts. I only have that one script to make fullwindow playback smoother, but don't know why you'd need them in plural...

Yeah, it "works", as in at least I don't really want to watch videos at these framerates

Exactly, you need a script/hack to make it at least somewhat watchable. And I wasn't talking about OWB specifically, hence the plural form.

If someone wants to use OS4 as there main OS why not it might be quite fun - maybe when I'm on holiday

But The Title of thread is the dream over and I think it's rather disappointing that Hyperion couldn't even make a decent Web Browser after all that effort of Porting the OS to PPC and everything else yes it's rather disappointing.

Anything but the very latest PC web browser is bound to be a bit daft.

Today I switched to using Linux for web browsing because though the latest version of Firefox my XP machine can run is less than 2 years old, it now won't render some web pages properly (with fatal results). Of course the new Firefox is also a bit daft in other ways, but I have to put up with it. It's like 1995 all over again. Some things never change!
