Theoretically it could work with Mediator 1200TX at least (as it has the required 3.3V power rail).

Support for it Mediators 1200 has not been written yet though.

Beautiful work all of you on this!
My A4k Tower with Mediator got dusted off recently and I shall be searching for a Sonnet and ever hopeful that your work pays off and we can get it all working! (Happy to help test on a 4k but know no coding so would need the compiled versions.

Question - what to do about the 3.3v line requirement? I've not seen any text anywhere about how to A. Check if the Mediator I have provides it, and B. How to provide it if it doesn't!

Thanks all.

I think sonnet.library is not yet at the state where it can be tested by a person without programming knowledge. Still, we provide builds here:

As far as I know, no version of Mediator 4000 has 3.3V power line. I have to take mine out of my Amiga 4000 to check if at least this line is connected between the slots. If it is, then modding shouldn't be too difficult.

The following PCI slot pins are used for 3.3V power:
side A: 21, 27, 33, 39, 45, 53
side B: 25, 31, 36, 41, 43, 54

Has there been any updates on this project? I see several builds since this last entry but not what has been achieved since.

Thanks!

The project is moving forward, it's still not production-ready. Simple WarpOS programs do work after patching.

Hedeon is preparing to present results during Amiga 30 years anniversary in Germany (in October).

Anyone interested in low level details can review the code on GitHub.

Is there any reason why this might not work on an Amithlon system with a Crescendo 7200 card in one of the PCI slots?

Currently it depends on Elbox's pci.library API. I guess Amithlon uses something else.

I think this is great; but aren't the Sonnet cards as scarce as hen's teeth?

New maybe but there must be hundreds in old Macs.

Only a year or two ago Sonnet were selling their stock off very cheap.

Something like that. But one has to start somewhere. Sonnet Crescendo 7200 hardware is more or less available from sites like eBay.

For me this project is really about open source reimplementation of WarpOS. Sonnet is just the vehicle we're using now to get there .

In Amiga community it's important to take small steps if you're serious about achieving anything. So today it is Sonnet... tomorrow... we'll see .
