Do you mean it worked better in older versions?

Generally all software filters will be really slow if resolution is larger than 640x512 or so, most of them were originally made for 8-bit consoles and computers.

I noticed the same issue with HQ filters in WinUAE 2.4.0. The D3D plugin filters work fine, but the internal filters are much slower in 2.4.0 than with 2.3.3 in high resolution. 2.3.3 had no such slowdown using internal filters in high resolution.

I could also get fullspeed using internal HQ4X on my PC using WinUAE 2.3.3, however with 2.4.0 even with D3D filters I get some slowdown with HQ4X.

Interesting concept this - not directly related, but I noticed a similar effect on FBANext (FBA emulator) for Xbox 360 with latest version! I wonder if the newer filters are coded in a new way which results in this slow-down?

Much more interesting concept is lack of any useful information. Minimum is logs from both "fast" and "slow" versions.

Note that I have too fast PC to notice these kinds of problems so easily
(Also the less information, the less interest there is for me to find the problem, I don't really care about filters..)

I may have found the problem, not sure how to fix it without breaking other things but it will be fixed in 2.4.1.

Its the only filter that has this problem? Probably my computer is a bit slow, because all filters are running much worse than in 2.3.3.

(even the PAL filter, that I said many times, if I remember well...)

I would like to say that in 2.3.3 WinUAE and all its filters are running very fast on my computer. No, I am not kidding. Really...

Any other guy could test WinUE 2.4.0 on a old computer (well, not so old...) to help Toni?

http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae.zip should fix this and all other filter issues, like D3D CRT filter weirdness, without breaking A2024/Graffiti stuff.

Holy ****!!! 4.6GHz!?

Off-topic, but I wonder if the GTX 680 can handle Crysis in max detail without slowdown.

Edit: You sure this isn't an April Fools? 4.6, really?

I tested out the internal HQ3X filter (with auto-resolution), that is much faster now and gets fullspeed on my humble i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz with 6GB RAM and GTX 560 Ti. (Only the HQ4X has slight slowdown.)

I noticed a bug however: External D3D HQ filter seems to be broken now. Screenshot enclosed.

Toni, would you be kind enough to let me know in advance when you will be out for the night, need the time to book my flight and practice my already good lockpicking skills

That machine makes my i7 2.67 6Gb ram and ATI HD 4800 machine look slow

I got 680 about week ago. Originally I planned to get AMD 7970 with non-reference cooling (AMD standard cooling is always noisier than NV's) but they still haven't arrived, I have waited since release. Choice was obvious when 680 was released and was available immediately at lauch date. Interestingly it is much quieter than my previous 6970.

Unfortunately my vendor's warranty does not agree with you. OC'ing will void it.

P.S. Oh and alluding to Mclane, I hope that machine has theft insurance.
