I mainly keep an ST emulator installed for demo-watching and homebrew games playing. There's little in the way of "official" software that wasn't also put out on the Amiga (usually in better quality too) but the ST's passionate fanbase managed to create plenty of good stuff on their own that makes up for the lack of unique commercial releases...

With the old thread title i.e. "Alien Thing & Alien Blast, two great Alien Breed clones" I think this thread is getting just a little bit off topic

Renamed accordingly

One game I always enjoyed on the ST was Ranarama. It wasn't quite exclusive to the ST, but it was the only 16 bit version made. The others were on the C64, CPC and Speccy. It can included on the 520STFM welcome disk and was the only game I had for the system the first day it arrived at my door in 1987, and was quite an enjoyable Action/Maze/RPG mix.

Some other ST exclusives I remember well were Midi Maze, Oids, Super Sprint, and Star Trek: The Rebel Universe (although that was available on C64 and DOS). Sorry if these have already been mentioned above. I didn't have time to check out all of the links everyone has posted.

Bolo and Esprit are awesome games. Don't let the BW graphics distract you, both have fantastic gameplay.
I spent hours playing both on a friend's and the school's Ataris as they didn't work on any ST emulator for Amiga.

I've been interested in finding out which Atari ST games never appeared on the Amiga for quite some time, and when I read this thread it pushed me into trying to complete a list of exclusive ST games I've been making for some time.

If you want to have a look at the list I'm compiled so far of ST games that never appeared on the Amiga, you can find it at http://forum.classicamiga.com/forum/...ead.php?t=2322

I will update the list as more games are discovered.

Yep, Oids was one of the first games I included on my list. The list currently contains 112 games that were released on the Atari ST, but not the Amiga. A lot more than I initially thought there would be! And expect there will be a few more still to add.

I am shocked at how many great looking games were out that were released for the ST that we didn't get! Makes me want to go onto Ebay and get myself a 1040STE

Actually, i came EXTREMELY close to buying an ST in 1990 instead of an Amiga. Of course i am happy that i chose the Amiga, but ST despite its shortcomings, was a nice little machine.

Sorry, but that's not right.

- Esprit was the "prequel" to Oxyd.
- Oxyd was first published for the Atari ST (developed in Megamax Modula-2) and later converted for different plattforms.

- Sources: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esprit_%28Computerspiel%29 and http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxyd

Concerning the title of this thread, I'd like to name Chris Huelsbecks "To be on Top", which was initially released for the C64 and later converted for the Atari ST by the Atari ST demo crew TEX - which later became Thalion. It was their first computer game project.

More informations can be found here:http://mitglied.lycos.de/thalionsource/Hippel/TboT.htm

An Amiga version was advertised along the C64-Version, but was never programmed.

Back in the day when I had a CPC I saw in one of the ST mags a game that looked & played a lot like LaserSquad...
...its feature was the multi-level environment allowing multi-storey buildings / levels inc the ability to shoot @ characters on other levels. A sort-of 3D environment rendered in classic semi-isometric.

I've always wanted to play this game but have never been able to find it for download...
...I remember the mag article saying that it was ST only - no Amiga or PC conversion planned.

Any ideas?
