CF Adapter question

I've used dozens of these adapters in the past but for some reason I have two here which I simply cannot get to work. When I attach it to the A1200 (using known good IDE cables and a fully working 16gb CF card) the HD LED is dimly lit and that's it. Boots to kickstart screen and nothing can be accessed, one of them looks like the card socket section has been soldered onto the PCB wonky but other than that they look fine cosmetically.

Are there any known problems with these or am I simply looking at two duff adapters?

I will guess its duff adapters I have had few where the soldered pins have been the problem ,you can see them if you use a good magnifiying glass and resolder if you have a good hand

PFS3 is in use, the card works fine with another adapter. Looking closer at the two that do not work they are both a bit skew-whiff but I don't have a microscope to check in detail. Not that I would have the soldering skills to fix them like lol they're cheap enough looks like i'll just bin these two - I suppose a couple of duff ones out of the dozens i've had over the years is not bad going

Personally, I had trouble with the VH0 versions so I always look for the VH3 versions

They worked for me on an A600 and A1200. The ones that I had connected to the Ide port directly (no cable)

Do you use any SD adapters instead of CF? I like the idea of using 32gb sd cards as they are cheaper and more available.
