This is the information I have

Aminet http://aminet.net/package/game/shoot/Rescue

TOSEC
Space Rescue (1991)(Eckert, Tobias - 17-Bit Software)(SW).adf
Space Rescue (1991)(Eckert, Tobias)(SW).adf

from Fred Fish disk 690

Rescue A non-multitasking shoot'em up game with smooth
scrolling in three directions, four different pieces of
music, highscore list, cheat mode, etc. Automatically
notices if started on an NTSC or PAL machine, and uses
full PAL screen or NTSC overscan screen.
Binary only,
shareware.

Notes on Copyright:
-------------------
Space-Rescue is SHAREWARE. Everybody is allowed to copy it freely (except
for the ways mentioned below). If you like it, please send the amount of
money you think Space-Rescue is worth to aboves adress. This version
features four different level. For 10$ (or the equivalent in any
currency), you get a disk containing an (minor) update, four new,
challenging (and longer) levels, and the full Share-Version of the Soko-Ban
like Shareware game 'Roll On' V1.3 (Version 1.1 appeared on Fish-Disk 302)
with now 21 Levels nowhere else to be found.

When sending cheques please add 2$ handling-charge.

You are allowed to copy "Space-Rescue" for private purposes, upload it to
your local BBS etc. You are not allowed to enclose "Space-Rescue" in
Public-Domain libraries or other Program libraries (except for Networks)
without the written permission of the author. If you want to sell
"Space-Rescue" by other means than by selling Public-Domain-Disks
containing the game, or to give it along with any comercial products like
computer-maganzines etc., you need my written permission too. (Normally
there's no problem involved in getting this permission - just send me a
Fido-Netmail and I'll send you a fax). I just want to get an overview
about who earns more money with this game than me :-)

In any case you are allowed to copy "Space-Rescue" only when copying this
file also.

Notes on compatibility:
-----------------------
"Space-Rescue" automatically notices if started on an NTSC- or PAL-System.
On PAL-Systems it uses the full screen. On NTSC it switches to overscan.
Nevertheless, the sound is playing slightly faster on NTSC-Machines. Users
with just 512 KByte of ram will have to disconnect all external drives and
start "Space-Rescue" out of the CLI. When you have got more memory of
course, you can start "Space-Rescue" directly from the workbench.
"Space-Rescue" should run on Systems with Turboboards, memory expansions,
Kickstart 2.0 etc. (Sorry I could not test it on an A3000).

Warning!!! Space-Rescue totally turns of Multitasking. Please wait for all
----------- other disk-activities to stop before starting the game.
After being started, Space-Rescue can by stopped at any time by pressing
the left Mousebutton.

Space-Rescue is distributed without any warranty.
-------------------------------------------------

Instructions
============
Space-Rescue is some kind of answer to Anders Bjerins 'Mini-Blast'. Your
task is to maneuver an helicopter throughout a cave without getting to
touch anything. Several obstacles make it difficult to get through all the
caves. Some of them can be shot using your build in weapon, others can't.

Further you will have to watch your fuel. Your Helicopter has an limited
amount of fuel (unleaded of course :-) which can be refilled at the marked,
white places.

In higher levels, there can be several ways to go. Watch out which way you
choose, for there are some ways, you can only complete, whe you refilled
your fuel at the right time (not too late, and not too early).
Nevertheless you can normally get more points when flying the more
dangerous ways.

During the title-picture ist displayed, you can choose the level of
difficulty by pressing [F1] to [F3], which will determine the helicopters
size. You can pause the game by pressing [P]. Pressing the left
mouse-button during the title sequence or in the game will get you out of
'Space-Rescue'.

In order to let you get an better overview about the cave and all what's in
it, your helicopter features an short-range scanner (placed in the upper
right half of the screen).

When a level is done, a notice will be displayed at the same location. You
now have to land at the nearest refuelling-point and press the fire-button
to proceed to the next cave. If you think the game is to hard, try finding
the cheat-mode :-). In general: If it moves shoot it, if it doesn't move
blast it.

Thanks to Stephan Polster for testing the NTSC-mode and Andreas Dubhorn for
drawing the helicopter

and to all those who send the Shareware-fee !!!

Tobias Eckert, 30.10.91

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, I programmed the game 26 years ago. Eternity. Did the graphics and music too, using SoundTracker and Deluxe Paint. Those were the days... :-)

I completed all levels and can confirm that it works. I see you link to my video on your page. I have now deleted it since I recorded a new one using the full version. You might want to update the link

If you have PayPal, then I'm more than happy to pay the Shareware fee.

Great longplay hipoonios! Thanks for taking the effort. I actually never mastered to complete the game without losing any lives myself. Nice to see a perfect run!

I use savestates most times when I produce my longplays. So I'm not really that good

Rather savestates than trainers and cheats. Trainers can be useful, but for videos it just looks lame IMHO. Never used them and will never do.

Welcome to EAB! Nice to see a decent Scramble clone - it's a classic genre that was strangely overlooked in both the commercial and PD game arenas on the Amiga.

Anyway, with some crispy cool screenshots from hipoonios, a new HOL entry has been created for Space Rescue. I was hoping to include details about the cheat mode that you mentioned in the demo docs. After all these years, can you remember how to activate the cheat mode? I'd love to include it in the HOL game entry!

Make it to hi score entry table. Press F1-F9 then RETURN in order. See what it spells out? It turns out that F1 and RETURN are sufficient. One idea was by increasing the amount of letters maybe that many levels could be skipped. They weren't. Anyway in this mode you have unlimited choppers and fuel.

@clenched
Thanks mate! The high score table must've been the only part of the game I didn't think to test the function keys Hopefully the game author will pop his head in and let us know if there are any other cheats to be had.

Anyway, keep up the brilliant work with cranking out all those game maps for HOL!

You guys are amazing. I had completely forgotten I had put that cheatmode in. It's the only cheat available though.

How did you create those level maps? They look great!

Hello SpaceRescue,
It's always good to hear from Amiga programmers from days gone by. The maps were made using program called Maptapper. There is a small section describing it on this board.
