Just type in (after the executable file): -disableharddrivesafetycheck . The line in Start>Run> must be: winuae.exe -disableharddrivesafetycheck Any drive handled by the original hdtoolbox only see up to 8Gb. Use hdinst or hdinsttools, plus http://aminet.net/disk/misc/fixhddsize.lha . |

Quick and final update.
Installed drive in A1200 Boots Fine.....All good, Classic WB looks Very good Thanks Blodwych So the moral..... Can Use USB Caddy.... IF HD Contains data delete Volume info using Windows Disk Management. Run WinUAE as ADMIN and disabledrivesafetychecks first. Mount Drive in WinUAE Don't use HDToolbox, USE HDInstTools....from Aminet...Format Transfer Data using additional mounted PC directories. And Enjoy.... Now I feel confident to experiment with SFS & Utilise the full drive, but to be honest 4GB is more than enough for me. Thanks to all who helped, and again Toni WinUAE is just soooo powerfull, not just an emulator |

Sorry for my ignorance, but how do I run WinUAE with the hard drive checks disabled? I dont see an option to "run as" when i bring up the properties window in Explorer to pass the command line switches..
I'm using Vista as well, It tells me that the drive is not empty and non-RDB partitioned. EDIT: googled it (shift/right-click puts 'DOS prompt here' it in the context menu (which is cool!) will keep trying this... Last edited by Steve C; 02 October 2008 at 21:45. Hi guys,
I recently mounted my 4Gb Flash card in WinUAE, no problem. I was able to boot my system etc. But then back plugged into the real Amiga, the drive looks like unrecognized. Back again into WinUAE, perfectly working. Do you have an idea about my issue? Thank you Arnaud |

What does happen? Do you get the initial DOS window with a "not a DOS disk in drive DH0" message or do you get the "please insert floppy disk" animation?
If you boot from the Install disk and run HDToolbox, does it recognise the CF card? And does it show the existing partitions or does it want to initialize the card? Does it boot if you press Ctrl-A-A? |
