Renegades Deluxe gets released!
Hello.
It's been an eventful 3 years since I decided to go back to our Amiga P.D title Renegades, life getting in the way of stuff the way it tends to do but I was determined to get it finished. I recently took a week off work so I could prepare my art for Preston Comic Con but instead spent all week editing maps and various bits and pieces in my bid to get this finally done, luckily for me the programmer was fully onboard by the time we finished (around 6 P.M tonight) and so we went at it with full force, just to get it finally out there. It means more to me to finally release this version than I can ever explain, 'it's only a P.D game from 20 years ago!' may be your thoughts but to me it has bugged me so much that I simply HAD to fix it. Looks-wise it's the best I am capable of creating, gameplay wise it's the best we can do with what we had without yet another total re-write and Kevin simply doesn't have the time. This is the best Deathmatch game we could squeeze out of Kevin's Renegades engine. Changes to the original:
I just want to thank this Forum for being so friendly to me and my constant ramblings and stop and starts regarding this project. It's been a long 3 years and despite me wanting to give up on this I simply couldn't. Please enjoy the game (2 player ONLY I am afraid) and if you're able to take photos of yourself playing the game with a friend please send them to my email: waynenipple@hotmail.com...I need to prove to Kevin that people STILL play on Amiga games and may actually play Renegades Deluxe too. Link to my Amiga page on my website and download: http://wayneashworthart.com/Amiga.html Thanks again everyone, I'm sorry it took so long. If there are any issues regarding compatibility please let me know but this works on a 1200, we tried it on a 500 but we couldn't get it to work so apologies if that's the system you want this to work on. |

Wayne, what can I say but thank you to you and Kevin for all your hard work on this - it's great to see the finished product. We will have to get this set up on our next Amiga meet up in the South East and give it the attention and play time it truly deserves. It's just so good to see an Amiga PD Game released here on EAB in... 2014!
Get yourself a pint btw! |

Thankyou for both downloading and especially donating! That was incredibly kind of you!
In fact, the generosity has been incredible. It has prompted me to start thinking about map-packs for the future, each pack will have its own set of tiles to go with it. That's the plan |

I'm sure if Kevin can't find the time someone else will be able to.

Thankyou!
We're getting some reports of bugs that were never spotted so Kev is fixing those a.s.a.p. When that is done I will let you guys know, we thought we had play-tested it enough but it appears it takes an outsider or 3 to spot the bugs that we wouldn't. |

When I have Amiga in 98 and earlier I have never hear about this game, when I start using UAE I play it once - it was like turn it on and quit after few minutes to never back to this title. There are some bugs, because now more people play this game more time and discover stuff that wouldn't be discovered in earlier "test plays".

Hi! I have heard of this bug being reported before. That screen is in interlace mode which is the same as the character selection screen. On older versions of WinUAE it seemed to vanish but I cannot get rid of it on my latest version of WinUAE. Not that I am blaming it, I am trying to test Renegades Deluxe on my actual 1200 to see if the graphical bug is there too...if it is I have a real problem. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. |

I added it to Mobygames a few years ago, so it isn't totally forgotten. http://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/renegades
