Nice, but a patent?

Isn't r,g,b to component pretty well understood, id be interested to see what you have done different in your design to warrant a patent.

Supports Amiga and other RGB 240p devices plus interlaced modes, picture is also excellent.

That looks excellent. Hopefully it won't suffer from the same problems that Kipper's adapter was suffering from (i.e. not being able to display picture at all on certain tvs).

By the way, there was no need to order a TV from overseas to handle 576i, most Sharps, Sonys and even some super cheap RCAs sold on the North-American market handle it. Not Samsungs however.

@whitesnake

Yes I've seen those, the ones we will be selling have a direct 23 pin RGB cable on them and they are also powered off of the 12 volt line on the amiga Video port.

no extra cables. just the box with a 2ft cord and 23pin plug.

@alenppc

The Sharp LCD I have is from 2008 and it doesn't support PAL (576i @ 50hz) when using Component Video. It only supports 50hz when using composite or S-Video.

If this connects straight to the amiga, I'd like one.
The other one off ebay would require me to also find an amiga to scart cable, and in the US those aren't readily available.

edit... He answered that while I was posting.....

Later,

OK, admittedly I haven't tried the component in PAL mode on the Sharp, but it works in composite as you say.

I tried a few Sonys however and they only do 576i over component but not over composite...

But is it better/different than the regular rgb-scart cables like the ones amigakit is selling?

I have one of those, it works with 2 of my 4 component equipped displays - the ones that dont work apparently dont like the Amiga's Bi-Level sync and need the more common Tri-level sync to function.

Does your converter solve this issue?

The incompatibility is more likely related to the Amiga's (non-standard) non-interlaced video signal. As I understand it, tri-level sync is only used for HD, not SD, video signals.

I wonder if it's possible to work around that issue using a genlock? Apply standard interlaced video to the genlock, maybe the Amiga output image is forced to be closer to standard then?
