@jotd and please include the Intro in the CD32 Version of "Prey - An Alien Encounter" (whdl installer) and support the CDTV version of the game!!

I agree about that.. There hasn't been a single case I'm aware of where adding more colours made a Bitmap Bros game look better? It'd just be the same but with more ramps, but their palette is a big part of what gives the games their atmosphere? Genuinely beautiful games already.

Lotus on the other hand as a really colourful game with no particularly strong "style" I can see why you might want to add more colours.

I will give my vote to anyone who make a great ports of the Final Fight, Captain Commando, Punisher, and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.
(for Amiga 500/1MB, of course)

Yes, there are strong feelings about Speedball 2 CD32 (AGA) and Chaos Engine AGA. I still like Chaos Engine AGA, and the console versions of Gods also have more colors. SNES colors are not so good but Genesis ones are an improvement.

In Speedball 2 they tried to add more red/orange as the original was very blue, but it failed. Still I'd love to see a less bland palette.

Just drawing colored cars instead of gray would be a nice improvement. And maybe create a better copper sky or smth.

Lotus AGA gets my vote!

A full-screen version with different coloured IA cars already sounds like a great improvement!

Along with maybe better copper sky, better controls (not up for accelerate!) and cd audio for a CD version.

As much as i love Lotus 2 i still go back to Lotus for the lap nature and pitstops of the first game!

I forgot you have the Lotus source code, do you have the Lotus 2 source code?

probably not but wishful thinking asLotus 2 is a much better candidate for improving just because its full screen but sfx only, mixing music and audio eould be huge improvement along with having different coloured cars.

I don't count Lotus 3 as it tried too much but did neither track racing nor stage racing well

I agree, but as explained earlier in other threads, Lotus 2 source got lost... The only source code I got from Codetapper (who got it from Shaun Southern) is for

Lotus, Lotus 3, Supercars 2.

Oh, you have code for Lotus 3? That would be a better base version to add more colours just because of the full screen, could add the audio tracks from 1 also. Could change the player car to a Ferrari also

I know the guy is good but this is dropped a little too casually He's redoing colors, not replacing sprite graphics.

The Poll is so wrong. There should be only Bagman option

Are you sure about NeoGeo version ??? I've never heard, please post YT link or other source.

I would love to see more AGA version of existing VGA games that had an ECS version... Dune 1&2, LucasArts Games etc...

ScummVM is already covering a lot of Lucas & Sierra stuff. Not sure how slow it is compared to the original interpreters though. And do they require RTG? I think they work natively on AGA.

plus this is Lotus, not Outrun

(graphics can be replaced too as they need to be extracted to add more planes anyway, so in theory they could be changed completely as long as the number of frames and dimensions & palette are the same)

Yep. But you'll need at least 64MB of ram to run SCUMMVM AGA IIRC. I guess a native version would be able to run on a vanilla CD32 or 1200.

That said, Dune would be on top of my whishes. (I know it's not on the list thought). I was always jealous of the fine dithered sky in the VGA version.

And what about Lands of Lore ? I seems to remember that you were working on it but maybe I'm confusing things.

Maybe the one from Outrun.. and while he is there, he can add AI cars from Outrun, and change the roads to similar to Outrun.
