lotus trilogy question for the coders

how lotus trilogy is it done ???
I mean how they launch cdda instead of mods ???
is it patched directly in the lotus disk files images ??? Or is it the amenu launcher which patch the disks images on the launch ????

You have any idea how it could be possible ???
No ideas how you could patch a game to use cdda instead of mods ??
If one day someone could do it, wtf, all cd32 games i could do with enhanced musics !!!!!

If a game requires disk access (disc in this case) even for one instance during an in-game session, I am guessing it'd be impossible to use CDDA for it, since CD audio complete takes over the CD drive.

You either have the game/stage/level completely loaded into memory and use CDDA, or there is no CDDA.

AFAIK Lotus trilogy loads all game data from CD before game starts.

CD audio playback is hardware level, program only needs to say "play track x" and then forget about it and code is only needed to check for track ending and restarting the playback if needed, I guess RNC loader can do this automatically. (Without checking track end, playback simply stops automatically)

Enhanced? I'm yet to see one single game where the CDDA is anywhere near as good as the mods.

I think Speedball 2 CD32 have much better crowd noise [ Show youtube player ] For me Soccer Kid CD32 have better music [ Show youtube player ]

I think it's CDDA as there is no change when players are close to goal.

i think about lotus 2 which doesn't have music even on cd32 !!!
Or the possibility to keep the noise of your car and the cdda could dislpay the music and the music can be a copy of the mod.

What about playing mp3/ogg instead of cdda? Don't know if an A1200 would be fast enough for that.

but what is the command in blitz basic to play tracks ???
Is there somebody who knows ?
