Here is my old level 27 road. It doesn't allow the "perfect" but I still like it because of how I collect the diamonds with the green blobs and if you notice all the green blobs are killed symmetrically (like the song says : blood on the dance floor)
Since my "perfect" road is the same as yours John, no need to post.

@lvl27: I also started on the right side at first of course. Once I got that down I started left to get a perfect.

Level 31 - doubt this is the intended way but it works pretty reliably:

There's not much to learn from this video of level 30 as it's significantly slower than both of your methods, but what I find so interesting is that a level that seems almost impossible at first glance has at least four different solutions (mine, Malko's, John's and Hipoonios'), and it also proves that none of us are using longplays and are working it out for ourselves! Between the four of us, we use the sword in three different ways.

I'm up to level 33 and so far have not even worked out a first move that doesn't result in instant annihilation.

I am at level 34. But to be honest I am not happy enough with my 32 & 33. Thus I keep training them.
Also, starting from scratch when you run out of lives is sometimes....... long As not each go is the same
