Where else can you download it from though? IRC is hard to use and you usually have to trade. Bittorrent it slowwww. Usenet downloads at a solid 500kb/s for me.... |

Usenet is the prequel of the internet. It was created for UNIX firstly. Usenet is absolutely wicked ! And it is not so overrunned with kids and lamers. And it uses your full bandwidth. |

Usenet is a distributed Internet discussion system.
I may be wrong (please correct me if so) but I think you use newsgroup readers like Agent Forte etc... |

Blueyonder has a 2 day retention.....but i sometimes pay £8 for a month of 50days retention. Bittorent is poor, only recent and popular files have a lot of seeds.
Usenet ftw imo |

Unison on the Mac, NewsCoaster on the Amiga or Thunderbird for most operating systems. Of the three, I prefer NewsCoaster, but that might be because I only ever really connected to usenet on the Amiga. My current ISP (Pipex) doesn't offer any news service at all unless you're willing to pay for it.
