differences between whdload and cracked version?

I played the cracked version of the game. The game ends after the big alien with an extro screen.

A short time ago, i have played the whd version. Amazing... After the alien area, the game doesn't end. There was a new area with the boss from the intro. Afterwards the game intro is displaying.

So where is the extro screen in whdload???

Perhaps if you don't do a certain something, you can't see the ending.

I remember being pissed off at the cracked version I had (same one you played I presume, which is a BETA), because you could HEAR that level's musics in the music menu but you couldn't play thelevel. As far as I kno the level was not there, of it was uinlockable with some bizare thing. Anybody has info?

That "cracked version" was probably demo or as mentioned beta version. I think game was stolen long before official release that's why it has only some of levels from original game. Besides original game uses custom track disk that hold more than 1Mb of data and that's why crack is on two disks but original only on one.

It's only one level missing in the cracked version.

Is my whdload version broken? Do you have an extro screen after fighting the last boss (from intro) ?

Hmm... I've finished game but it was long time ago and I don't remember right now but nothing special wasn't I think.

Thanks haynor for that "unimportant side-note"!

I fixed this in HOL and set the disk number to 1 (was 2).
Positively checked with GAGE and WHDload support page.

In the cracked beta version, one world is missing! Not because of the disk space, the fifth world was just not finished at this time... There's also a cracked retail version with all worlds.

The retail version doesn't have an outro, maybe because there wasn't enough space left on the disk for the fifth world and an outro. (and I'm talking about the original game, not about the cracked version)

Anyway, that's how it is...

Veru interesting.

I remember doing mad shit in the game trying to "unlock" that last level in the beta version, I thought it WAS there somewhere because the game includes the music!

How lame not having even that small ending sequence in the retail version.

Since you seem a T3 expert... what is the purpose of changing armor colors in teh second world's first level? I never noticed a difference by doing that thing.

I've found no difference with a cracked version (TLC).

There is too the outro in whdload version.

There is a full version of Turrican 3 on www.factor5.com published by Renegade (included the outro).

BTW, if you use BEAMMEUP to skip world, outro will be skip too if you are in the last world.

Sorry that I answer this old thread, but I'm just digging through the Turrican-threads.

@WindowsKiller: Turrican 3 had the extro. Maybe your disk is broken?

@Akira: Your weapons are not degraded when you die.
