It could be Pegasus still unless there is a similar character in another scrolling shooter? It's just the music doesn't sound right.

Sorry for the vague description, I think I was very young at the time of playing it (maybe 7 or something lol).

I'm still not sure on the game but I'll ask my cousin if he remembers... :-( It's probably pegasus though
