The Beast

Hi All,

Hope this is the right place for this post.

I am a software developer by trade. I have a real urge to re-create the Shodow of the Beast using original art.

This is entirely a hobby project no commercial use in mind just self satisfaction and the hope that one day I can post it on the web for others to enjoy.

I have alot of the sprites from the Amiga verion (the best) but I am missing backgrounds for the other levels and I can't get the dead tree you see on the title screen scrolling past.

Could anyone help me with the GFX side. I would of course credit you for the help.

Oh and I am leaving in all original credits and such. I just want to re-build it not steal it

Cheers

Alex.

[Request]

Hi All,

Could anyone provide or rip the sprites and levels for Shadow of the Beast?

I have tried with GfxRip but although I can find the srites I don't seem able to match up the bit planes correctly. I have followed the tutorials but my success is VERY limited.

Many Thanks

Alex

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the help

That was rougly where I got to but I can't for the life of me match the 2 halves together in the ripper. Or would that not happen I don't know

I will send you some states...will take a short while as I have most of the forest level it's the other backgrounds and beast looks that I need i.e. flying suit and laser gun.

Thanks again much appreciated

Alex.

Just rip gfx by hand like I do. Record (into avi, lossless) with WinUAE, then open the avi in VirtualDub and frame by frame cut out the stuff you need, paste in Paint, and remove unwanted pixels :P. No one want to do it that way, I know, but I've done it for years so I'm fast :P.
