So, some new information. I have been asked to remove the EAB name from the FTP to make it a stand-alone amiga FTP server. This is to protect the EAB name, which is not owned by me, from copyright questions and similar and that is fine. This is not up for discussion as I understand this. RCK have no way of managing what is on the FTP, but he is responsible for the EAB name.

The first stage for this would be to find a new name for it. Perhaps just "Amiga Board" or "Turranius Amiga FTP"? Suggestions are welcome.
Second stage is to create a new welcome message when you log in =)
Third stage is to modify the first page to of this thread to clarify that the FTP server is not a responsibility of EAB and any complaints about its contents are to be taken up with me personally.
Fourth stage is to rename all the website related stuff at grandis.nu. The EAB logo etc.

I've always considered the FTP part of EAB and that is why I've kept an administrator role for it only. I've never had any opinions on WHAT we actually have on it as that has been the job for EAB and its extension, the EAB moderators. Mostly DamienD to be honest although we now have a wider array of moderators taking responsibility for it as well. DamienD is still on the job as well. =)

So in the short run, only the name will change and not much else. It will still be connected and requiring an active membership with the EAB forums to even get to make an upload account, same as today.

In the long run we'll see what happens. I am NOT at a point in my life where I want to take a more active role with the FTP, so don't worry that I'll run off with it =)

If anyone feel like they can do a better job at hosting the FTP, please speak up now. I have no problems handing over the whole thing to someone else. I also have no problems with continuing hosting it, as long as it does not turn into "work".

The URL should remain the same since eab isn't in it right? Also that ASCII image is cool

Edit just realized eab is the directory name. Do you expect to change that to turban?

The host for the FTP? Yeah, that'll stay the same. The connected webpage for changing your pass etc does contain eab (http://grandis.nu/eab). For now, I've just added another one that goes to the same place ( http://grandis.nu/turran ). We'll see if we do a more problem renaming later.
