Help: Make working RANSOM Ultimate Amiga for Raspberry Pie 3 v2.0 on PI 3B+

Hello Dear Amigamers,

I come to you to ask if it exist a method to make working the 128 Go RANSOM Ultimate Amiga for Raspberry Pie 3 v2.0 on PI 3B+.

( hXXps://www.arcadepunks.com/ultimate-amiga-for-raspberry-pie-3-v2-0-from-ransom )

In fact I've transformed my old not working anymore amiga500 like that: hXXps://amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?t=552 .I've completely hollowed up the amiga, and with an Tynemouth Software Amiga 500 USB Adapter, a retropie v3b+, I have a masterpiece now!!

BUT, I've integrated a raspberry 3B+ and, it seems the 128Gb awesome image (more than 10000 games!!!) don't work on the 3b+ but on 3 or maybe 3B???

So my question is: how i can do to patch or modify the image to render it compatible with 3b+ or at least how I can recover the incredible amount of games on the 128gb image to try to make another image compatible with 3b+

May should I have linux on my PC? How I can make working this?

Many thanks

Tommy

If the image is older then the RPi 3B+ then it may need to be updated to support it. Ask the author of the image. If the OS on the image is based on Raspbian Stretch then it may work to do a simple upgrade (apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade).

Hello and thx Daxd.

I'm not even able to boot on retropie with the 10000+ amiga games SD card.

Fortunately, I have another sd card with retropie with work.

And since yesterday I have access to the ubuntu of my parents.

So maybe I can copie something from the sd card that boot to the one that don"t boot ?

I don't know if it would work by just copy stuff from the working sd card to the other. Maybe it is better/easier to start with a new raspbian stretch image, install retropi and then copy the games to it. Or copy the whole retropi install with the games (should be only a drawer in the user home directory if I'm not wrong) to the new raspbian stretch. Also have a look at: https://retropie.org.uk/download/#In...an_existing_OS

I've updated the image to 3B & 3B+

Just haven't got around to fixing/adding new content in it yet.

Once done I'll release v3.

Hi there,

is the actual image v2.0 not working on a Pi 3B?

I´m pretty new in this and I found your image at:
https://www.arcadepunks.com/ultimate...0-from-ransom/

Which Pi3 they mean there?

I solved this, image was corrupt:
When I start the image on a Pi3 B (without +) I get the message

---[ end Kernel panic - not syncing: No working init found. Try passing init= option to kernel. See Linux Documentation/admin-guide/init.rst for guidance.

and it stops booting. Is this normal?

And the download is only about 67GB. After extracting its only a 32 GB .img-file.
Is this normal?

Thank you for your help

The current public image does not work on 3B+ only 3B. I have updated the image to work on both Pi3B & Pi3B+ but have not released it yet. ETA early next year..

Does your controller work on the pie itself with other images?
If not you may need to install a generic driver. If that fails use a more common controller like a ps3or ps4 controller. Retropie isnt compatible with every controller.

You can ftp directly into your pi and transfer any games out of it.

I followed the Youtube video and now it runs on my 3B+ but my keys for the PS3 controllers are messed up in the Amiberry emulator. In Retropie the PS3 Controller is OK. I'm not sure how to get into the Amiberry GUI or how to reconfigure the pS3 controller so buttons are correct again.

Hi Ransom, just thought I'd let you know it works great on Samsung Evo Plus 128GB microSDXC but doesn't on SanDisk 128GB Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive (not enough space, weird). Anyway I'd thought I'd let you know because I saw a message somewhere looking for storage compatibility comments. Great job compiling this collection!
