Sum - firmware update available
by pure coincidence I stumbled on this announcement from amiga.org by Spidi but not here on EAB:
We are really proud to announce immediate availability of updates dedicated for our Sum family of devices. This new firmware version introduces: – saving LED states for Capslock, Numlock and ScrollLock keys, – bug fix related to pressed keys repeat, – bug fix related to RESET key lock for CD32, – other minor enhancements. Download => http://retro.7-bit.pl/download/Sum_20160619.7z So luckily I had an USB A-A cable (USB3 "blue" type but does not matter) and so I ran the Sum Flasher v0.5 on my Windows 2012R2 machine (running as admin) Took me just a minute to figure out how: to access the bootloader button (A1200 model) WITHOUT removing the adapter from my A1200 or even the shield. Yes you can, just used some L shaped fine pliers. However you won't be able to see the status led on the board like this but that is ok for what it does. So then I pushed the button, KEEP PUSHING, and connected the USB cable, and yep, Windows saw the device appear and the software said connected. Selected hex file from their website and then flashed it, which took only 3 or 4 seconds in total Finally a reset and disconnected device. So really easy! And I see it fixes the annoying repeating keys when pressing one (e.g. type "amiga" and you could get "ammigaa") So well done to 7bit for this fine product and continuous community support!
