(tension = stress)
I wanted to say this game is stressful.

Looking at your screenshot you have 2 solutions if you can't use the tractor beam.
Either you shoot the pod, it will bounce and go elsewhere.
Either you abandon the pod, you search the reactor, you destroy it and you run away.
With the 2nd solution you will lose a life but you will go to the next level.

Ah, that makes sense.

I was shooting at it but couldn't hit it. Lost 7 lives there.
Thanks for the tip - good to know about the other option.

Loads of unnecessary mistakes in this run:

Really good game. Perfectly smooth 50fps scrolling, spot on physics and pixel-exact collision detection.

Ah, that explains the same perfect 50Hz gameplay, didn't know Peter also coded this! Would be cool if Ziriax would participate in this round, too.

John, looks like you made it to the same stage as me, check out the footage on Lemon at the end of page 1. I think this is the start of the hard levels, and it gets harder from here. I made it a few more levels further, but tried to be clever going for more score killed me.

I contacted Ziriax before the round, but he said he is very busy at the moment, but will try to find time to check us out.

Not many mistakes in the easy levels this time, but then a sudden difficulty spike led to a quick game over.

Very good game, it's a good discovery for me.
I died at level 22, my brain was burnt...

Had a quick go at this last night and found it to be a rather pleasing Thrust derivative (except for 'up' to thrust - luckily I have one of those fabby PlayStation joypad apdaters for my Amiga so you can remap the buttons). However I made the mistake of pausing the game here and couldn't unpause it again, so my attempt came to a premature end.

Nice one rexsu!
That looks crazy from the screenshot, especially the wind thing added in the middle. Don't know if my nerves would hold out that long.

Thank you.
In fact, it's even harder than the screenshot suggests.
Above, it's the surface, so this passage is only the entry of the level
And what you don't see there is a very powerfull "electro-magnetic core" that draws you against the wall at the right...
But indeed, the "air vents" is even worse, you must throw (down) your ship in the hope of not touching the wooden pile.
At the bottom (outside the screen) there is a floor/wall, you usually arrive too fast, so you have to use the shield and you have almost no fuel for the rest...
Then you can go left or right, but it's really difficult for different reasons.
I didn't even do 10% of the level
