It's regular A1200 kickstart (39.106)
I removed 2 capacitors after I found on the web that 1D.3 and 1D.4 had the same bug. But now I'm sure that my Apollo card does not work. (now it does not even boot, before it would boot for 20-30 sec before freezes). Erm, what libs, driver etc.? I got card without any floppy. |

According to all websites I found (and Alex mentioned early) those 2 resistors apply only to 1B.2 mobo. I have 1D.3.

**Please hold the line while we try to connect you...** you need updated libraries for workbench to work... you need http://www.l8r.net/install/accel/apollo060.DMS but moreso http://amiga.resource.cx/install/ApolloInstall-50.dms even though its only an 040 it uses updated libs as does the 060 my friend. you may have to install them under cli (boot no startup) or boot without the card and and update / install the 040 support! hopefully this will sortout the problem your having without sending it off for repair. |

I will wait untill I get diff osc. I believe that 50 should work better and more stable then 64. At the moment I can't install anything with card in it and most of the times HD won't even boot. |

Hi Everyone
I have a apollo 040, the problem I have with it, it dosen't always boot you just get the insert disk picture. a few resets later it will boot from the HD. Ive tried it on a couple of A1200 Motherboards and it has the same problem. Not booting first time or after a reset! My other accelerator works fine If anyone knows how to solve this problem Please Let me know |

I wouldn't call that a probem - it is feature. (M$ talk )
I believe that's bug for most Apollo cards. (someone mentioned that before) Is there any DYS to add card enable/disable function?? I know that this card doesn't have blizzards 'press 2 to disable' option. |

Hi Anubis
I am not sure what DYS Stands for but there are a few jumpers on the Apollo 040 not sure what they all do theres 2 060 jumpers a scsi jumper and a RAM jumper and thats it As for the 2 key disable option there isn't one that Im aware of on the apollo but could be wrong! |

@Felix
The problem your having with "not booting from hard disk imediately on turn on" is actually a motherboard ide and hard disk timming issue. As the Hard Disk is taking longer to do its self diagnostic post by wich time the Amiga had gone past the IDE POST check. there are a couple of ways arround this that dont involve you updating the hardware. but by far and wide the best method is to upgrade to OS3.5 as this has an extra wait (nearly 30 seconds) before intializing the IDE (so slooooow posting harddisk can get going before the amiga). hope that helps.. |

DYS - Do it Your Self I know about jumpers. There is one that must be set (either 040 or 060), RAM to disable/enable installed ram, SCSI to disable/enable SCSI boot if SCSI is installed on the card (not in my case) and last one is only if you have 060 processor. (not sure why there is this second one) @ Zetro - is this still issue with flash cards instead of HD? |

Hi Zetro
Thanks for your help but I have narrowed it down to be the accelerator. Due to these few reasons 1. It will not boot sometimes after a Warm reset with the HD fired up 2. all my Amigas boot no problem with my Blizzard 060 3. without any Accelerators just the HD installed it boots Fine 4. I have tried it with my OS3.5 installed Amiga and have the same not booting consistently Problem! The only thing that’s common is the 040 Apollo and not booting Thanks felix |

Disabling the RAM switch is basicly the same as switching the whole board off.

I think I read somewhere once that an accelerator card without RAM actually slows down the computer, strangely enough.
