It's a good adventure, but the WHDLoad speech version needs 100 MB for the important Preload feature.

If you have loads of RAM (8mb ok, 16mb better) you could crunch the lot with XPK and see how much disk space you save before deleting a load of stuff.

Baby Jo In Going Home. Not nearly as bad as the Castlevania conversion but still pretty bad nonetheless, specially gameplay-wise.

I'm copying the WHDload version of beneath a steel sky onto my CF card right now via Winuae for later use in my real A1200 (looking if the 64mb CD32 with speak works on my A1200). I started the unzipping (arc ext) in dopus at about 8 hours ago and it's still NOT finished copying... wtf.
I'm beginning to think it's a sort of error. I'll let it run till morning, see what happens.

I'd nominate Renegade to avoid... It plays a LOT like the arcade version - which is the problem.

After watching Dr. Ashen's video on Renegade III and seeing how good II and I were on the Spectrum I thought I'd see if the Miggy was a graphical upgrade on the better controls.

Nope - arcade. Booums. :/

You may not have intended it, but that comment strikes me as astonishingly narrow-minded.

I have a large xml file (and an excel spreadsheet) with all language variations (non-english) dupes, dupes with different names, dupes with different versions (fast ram/2 disk/etc.) marked on it - with a mind to selecting a "best set".

It's not 100% complete but it's a great start.

I'm busy tonight but will try and tidy it up and zone it.

I actually have to agree. What about the Bignonia 8bit conversions f.e. Mr.Photon? However, I agree that there are many PD games which are "not exactly great" though.

Oh definitely - there's so much garbage out there for sure, but of course there are certainly more than a mere three that are worth playing.

Yep, there are some superb PD games, unfortunately though, not many of them are whdloaded.

If only there was an active whdload coder around

There are too much PD card games (just look at Assassins PD collection). Most shooters are made with SEUCK and those games are smooth only on something better than A500. Most racing games are with non-moving playfield and sometimes only for 2 players.

All sports games (with exception of Sensible Soccer and some driving games like lotus or JaguarXJ220).
