i could zone boingbag39-1, boingbag39-2, bb39-2-contribution and bb39-2-locale-deutsch if needed.
i also have the two files euro-update and os39faq-english in my boingbag-download-folder from 2010.

so hyperion has become a rogue company i assume?

Mostly PPaint support files (now in gfx/ppaint), plus the Kara Font Collection.

The "biz/" directory is for "Business software" - creating sub folders containing support files for commercial software was an error probably caused by non-native speakers mixing things up ("business" vs. "commercial"). Plus most of that software stopped being commercial ages ago - and it didn't make sense to have one folder for Darkage, but none for any of the bigger, more active brands.

We moved all those "commercial" folders and or files to other directories two years ago: biz/dopus is now util/dopus, the biz/p5 files are (mostly) in driver/ etc.

In other words: nothing shady going on, this time You can always check Aminet's Changelog for changes like this.

The problem for Hyperion is, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

For them to hold trademarks, they have to be seen as enforcing them, though quite why it took 8 years to enforce them is between petty and petulant.

Those files aren't relevant to any trademarks they might hold though. Copyrights perhaps, but do they even hold copyright on those specific files? (Don't Cloanto handle the "classic" 68K Amiga stuff?)

The age old question, that many will reply differently.
Cloanto "own" less than Hyperion. Both are dickwads doing stuff like this.

Who loses? all of us.

There was that Picasso thing, and now this. And some people are shocked when I say that I wish Hyperion and Cloanto would just go under.

Now, before you all go ballistic on Hyperion for removing the BoingBags, consider the following statement:

Quote:
Hyperion only asked for the removal of four AmigaOS 3.1 updates, taking the entire site including all BoingBags offline was Münch's personal decision.
So it may be simply an overreaction from DJBase. The Boingbags are nothing to do with Hyperion anyway - that's all H&P's deal, along with OS 3.5 and 3.9.

So why is Hyperion asking people to take down the BoingBags?
This is where it all goes lop-sided, when these two companies start filing DMCA-type claims for shit they might not even own.
